Greetings to you and all my brothers and sisters at the Shackle Island Church of Christ, happy new year 2026. Trust this January report finds you well.
The month of January 2026 has been very hectic and challenging with my health, but it’s been fruitful with bumper harvest in Christ kingdom. Thank you so much for your support and prayers which made our work possible, God bless you. We conducted Bible Seminar/ Evangelism at four different church locations namely:
1. Church of Christ Ikot Akpan Afaha
2. Church of Christ, Ukanafun T’ship Ikot Akpa Nkuk
3. Church of Christ, Ikot Odiong
4. Church of Christ, Ikot Akpa Idem
January 1, during our prayer meeting at Church of Christ, Ikot Odiong, my son Ekemini who turns 14 years old preach and a young boy in their class was baptized into Christ. We were glad God speaks through him to win a soul into Christ kingdom.
January 3,
CHRISTIAN COUPLES’ RETREAT 2026
The 9th edition of our Christian Couples’ Retreat on he theme “BUILDING A STRONGER FAMILY” was full with inspiring talks by the following ministers of the Gospel:
* Engr Emmanuel Inyang speaks on “Building A Stronger Family through Lifestyle”
* Cliff Jarrell speaks on “Building A Stronger Family through Parenting”
*Professor Essien Akpanuko speaks on “Building A Stronger Family through Faithfulness”
The annual Christian Couples’ converge is a mechanism for building a stronger church which family is the bedrock. Because a godly nation is the product of a godly home.The evet features Meal fellowship, prayers, testimony, Interactive session and lectures.
103 couples (206 participants) drawn from 73 local congregations of the Lord’s church was in attendance this year at the Church of Christ meeting hall Ukanafun Township.
January 8 – 10,
The 3 days Bible Seminar/ Evangelism at Church of Christ, Ikot Odiong starts on Wednesday with a build up meetings.
The event featured,
* Door to door Evangelism,
* Open Air Evangelism at Market place for two days,
* Free Eye Test/Glasses,
* Free Blood Pleasure check and Malaria drugs administration,
* Bible Quiz for young people were six congregations of the Lord’s church participated.
* Free Feeding for 3 days for all participants including those who came for Free Medical service.
Our door to door Evangelism led by our Ukanafun WBS Evangelism Team took us to five communities including Obon Odor village were one of our newly planted churches was destroyed during the crisis and worship was closed down. Many in Obon Odor village including the village chief promised to be a part of our worship.
Effect:
128 people received Free Eye Glass/Test
73 people received drug administration on Malaria, Typhoid fever, Arthritis and Blood Pleasure check
8 Souls obeyed the Gospel and baptized into Christ during the Bible Seminar at Ikot Odiong and some of the newly baptized are now worshipping at Churches nearest to them.
Those who participated in the Bible Quiz and won went home with Bible, Hymnals and Bible literature.
OBON ODOR MISSION:
January 13,
I led some members of our Ukanafun WBS Evangelism Team to Obon Odor village were one of our newly planted churches was rock with crisis, we visited the village chief and preach the Gospel to him, we gave him a Bible, he requested for us to come again.
We continue our follow-up mission and a soul (Mfoniso Etim) was baptized.
January 18,
I, my wife (Ekaette) my daughter (Emem) and son (Ekemini) we to Obon Odor village for the reopening of the church after about five years of closure. The village chief (Chief Udim Ezekiel) and others in the community came to worship, my son (Ekemini) led in songs and Given while I preach the sermon. A soul obeyed the Gospel and baptized into Christ. After worship I went back to the village chief palace and continue teaching him about the church of Christ.
January 20,
We went back to Obon Odor village on a follow-up mission, the village chief (Udim Ezekiel) obeyed the Gospel and baptized into Christ, the entire village was shacking because at the river many were there and he confess Christ as Lord and Saviour.
On same day, a brother (Ime Johnson) who left to the denominational church due to the crisis was restored.
January 22 – 23,
Our two days Bible Seminar/ Evangelism at Church of Christ, Ikot Akpa Idem village featured Door to door Evangelism, Open Air Evangelism at the Village square at night where 12 Souls obeyed the Gospel and baptized into Christ, Free Eye Test / Glasses/medication and feeding of participants including those who came for Free Eye Test.
EFFECT.
12 Souls obeyed the Gospel and baptized into Christ.
138 people received Free Eye Test/Glasses, this beneficiaries are both Christian and those from the denominational churches.
January 25,
I went to Obon Odor village and worship there, the village chief and others came about 17 of them, I preached the sermon on Salvation in Christ and a Soul obeyed the Gospel and baptized into Christ.
January 27.
I and my wife (Ekaette) went on a follow-up mission at Obon Odor village, we preach to some women who promised to visit our church service on Sunday.
January 30,
I led our Ukanafun WBS Evangelism Team on a follow-up mission at Ikot Akpa Idem village were we just concluded our Bible Seminar/ Evangelism, making visits to some of the newly baptized, preaching Christ to the lost Souls. Three souls again baptized into Christ at Ikot Akpa Idem making a total of 15 Souls in nine days.
Some of those baptized during our follow-up are those who benefitted from our free Eye Test/Glasses and others their parents benefitted. Thank you so much for preaching Christ through your generosity.
SUMMARY:
During the period of this report, we had four Bible Seminar / Evangelism in 4 different villages.
34 Baptism
3 Restoration
266 benefited from Free Eye Test/Glasses
73 benefited from Free Medical service (Malaria, Typhoid, Arthritis and Blood Pleasure check).
We will continue our other planned Bible Seminar/Evangelism in February and March then some of our Ukanafun WBS Evangelism Team will attend the 2026 Great Workshop at Abeokuta in Ogun State, Nigeria. We need your prayers for successful mission.
